Mercoledi Musicale

I’m not a great fan of Arvo Pärt but there are times that call for the quiet, meditative music that he creates. Today in our troubled world seems, for me at least, to be one of those times.

Spiegel im Spiegel (Mirror within the Mirror) Roman Borys (cello) and Jamie Parker (piano).

The word for February 26th is:
Mirror /ˈmirər/: [noun/verb]
1. a reflective surface that reflects a clear image.
2. to show a reflection of …
Middle English from Old French mirour, based on Latin mirare ‘look at’. In early time it could also mean “a magic crystal” or “a person deserving imitation”.

  1. I bought a CD of his music many years ago. I’m not sure if I ever played it completely through. He’s an acquired taste alright.
