Canada Day 2017

On the waterfront in Charlottetown – HMCS Charlottetown in the background.  Canada Day 2017.

I can’t think of a better way to celebrate my country today than by sharing the first sounds of the newly restored bells at St Dunstan’s Basilica as they ring out with our National Anthem.

In a truly Canadian moment the crowd started to tentatively sing and gradually all joined in.  Sometimes wish we were a bit more fervent in our patriotism.

  1. Cool video! I hadn’t scrolled down far enough to read your next paragraph after the video, so at first I thought I was imagining the voices humming along! Then actual words were audible!

    Happy Canada Day, you two!
