Lunedi Lunacy

Ah Christmastide – the time of decorations, carols, cookies, gifts, festooned garlands and trees, egg nog, fellowship, chocolates, brightly colour lights, licorice all-sorts, fruit cake (well okay to look at it maybe not to eat!), boiled sweets, candy canes, toffees, gum drops, gingerbread, marzipan …. damn I just drooled on the keyboard!

Let’s admit it we’re all probably going to put on a bit of weight – or a lot of weight – over the holidays and come January 1st 2017 dieting will be, if not the then pretty close to, the #1 resolution on many people’s list. British-Canadian-Hungarian (don’t ask) comedian Michael McIntyre decided – or it was decided for him – that he needed to shed a few pounds; as an inspiration to us all at this time of year I thought I post his experience and thoughts.

  1. Please, not Michael McIntyre! You bring back unhappy memories of a Boxing Day afternoon when we were compelled to sit with a family who had been gifted, I would say cursed, with a MM DVD. Excruciatingly smug and unfunny. But that’s just my opinion, of course! More Kathy Burke as antidote, please.
